You must be a member of the Mediterranean Studies Association for 2007. Dues are $50. Dues for Editorial Board members are at the reduced rate of $40. If you are NOT a member for 2007, please pay your dues as part of the registration process below. 2. Fill out the registration form. Registration fees are non-refundable. Indicate any optional expenses such as the Wednesday excursions. Please note if you require audio/visual equipment (no slide projectors are available, only digital projectors). You may use the online form or send in a form. 3. Information on the congress hotel is available below. Registration Everyone attending the conference is required to complete an official registration form. Individuals not presenting a paper or chairing a session may either pre-register or register on site. All conference participants who are giving papers or chairing sessions, however, must pre-register. THE PRE-REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS APRIL 15, 2007. One form is to be filled out for each person; photocopies are acceptable. Before February 1 the registration fee is $140, and $50 for a spouse or guest. After February 1 the registration fee is $175, and $50 for a spouse or guest. At the Congress the registration fee is $250, and $50 for a spouse or guest. REGISTRATION FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. (US currency only.) NOTE: The $50 fee is for a companion who will not be attending the sessions but who will be attending the evening social events and/or a tour (for which tickets are required). These guests do not receive a name badge or registration packet. They do receive tickets in their companion's full registration packet. Registrants must pay in US dollars and are urged to use a US bank so as to avoid exorbitant bank fees. Registrants who wish to pay with a check drawn on a foreign bank may do so, but must add $8 to the total to cover bank fees.

MSA Bus to Évora We are chartering a bus to go directly from the Lisbon airport to Évora (the Hotel Cartuxa and a central location such as the bus station or the central square). The bus will run on Tuesday, May 29 at about 12:00 and 5:00; on Wednesday at about 12 (times subject to adjustment). The cost is $29 prepaid; $35 (30 euros) on the bus if space is available. To reserve a seat, you must prepay. If you wish to reserve a seat, email: lboudreau@UMassD.Edu; we can use your credit card number on file. If we get a minimum of 20 reservations for a return run on Sunday morning from Évora to the Lisbon airport, we will charter a bus. Let us know if you also want to reserve a seat for the return trip at $29. From the Lisbon airport to Évora by public transportation 1. From the Lisbon airport take a taxi to “Sete Rios” – ask to be left by the bus-stop “Expressos para Évora.” The taxi costs about 7-12 euros and takes 10-15 minutes.
Hotels The block of rooms at the Hotel da Cartuxa is reserved for the period May 29-June 2, 2007; however, if you wish to arrive earlier or stay later we will do our best to arrange the extra nights. These rooms will be booked through the MSA. Cost of rooms are in Euros. Amount charged will be based on the Universal Currency Converter the day charges are made. First night payment is required to reserve room. Reservations must be made by March 1. Deposit is refundable until March 1. Full payment is due April 1. Final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card April 1 unless MSA is advised otherwise. MSA IS NO LONGER ACCEPTING RESERVATIONS; CONTACT THE HOTEL DIRECTLY. Please make all checks payable to Mediterranean Studies Association; you may also charge your credit card (see below). With increasing costs and weakening dollar, it has been necessary for the MSA to increase the cost of the tour this year. For the five full day and four night tour the price is $575.00 (based on double occupancy; single supplement $175). However, to encourage early registration we are offering a discounted price of $499.00 for those who register and pay in full by check no later that February 1.
